Kilsheelan NS is a mainstream co-educational school located in a picturesque setting on the banks of the River Suir and in the shadow of Slievenamon. The current building was built in 1960 with the school previously located in the middle of the village where the current scouts hall is.
Our school is a real focal point of the village and is located right next to the local GAA grounds. We currently have 5 classrooms, 2 special education rooms with big plans to modernise and develop the current building so watch this space over the coming months and years.
We currently have 4 classroom teachers, including a teaching principal, 2 Special Education Teachers, 1 Shared Teacher for Principal Admin, 1 Special Needs Assistant, a Secretary and a part-time Cleaner and Caretaker.
We pride ourselves on the welcoming, friendly atmosphere we have worked to create here in Kilsheelan N.S. Our school motto is "Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh si" - "Praise the youth and they will prosper". We aim to live out this motto in school every day where we encourage each child to work to the best of their ability, express their own individuality and to become responsible, hard working, friendly and resilient adults into the future.
